Our Volunteer’s Review: Alex (29) from Asbury Park, NJ

We asked tester Alex to try the Projector Go in two settings: a laid-back living room movie night and an outdoor backyard screening.

“I unboxed it, powered it up, and auto-corrected the image in seconds. No manual fiddling. Indoors on my laptop, 4k content popped with sharpness when I watched a movie. Bluetooth 5.0 connected to my speaker seamlessly

Outside we streamed a Monday Night football game via my Pixel. This was where it really impressed me. It still held clear under our backyard ambient light, as we played on the garage door.

It’s light as a paperback, easy to carry. I’ll be honest, given the weight, the built-in stereo surprised me. It filled the room, although for movie nights. I just used an external soundbar to give things a proper boost. Overall I’d highly recommend!”

What I love about the Projector Go

  • Quick picture set up with automatic keystone focusing
  • Amazing image quality. True 1080p 4k HD resolution and huge display.
  • Easy to connect, as it had Wi‑Fi, Bluetooth, plus USB and HDMI.
  • Super lightweight and easy to carry around the house.
  • Worked across multiple devices including my laptop and cell.

Our Verdict: Projector Go impressed us as the most user-friendly, all-purpose projector in its price range. Setup was incredibly simple: just power it on, let the auto-focus do its job, and start streaming. Our testers praised the sharp 1080p image quality, and we loved that it played nicely with both iPhone and Android via wireless mirroring.

The compact, lightweight design made it easy to move between rooms or take on trips. Sound from the internal speakers was decent for casual use, though pairing it with a Bluetooth speaker gave it a serious upgrade that we would recoomend.

If you’re looking for ultra-bright or cinema-grade black levels, this might not be your perfect match. But for casual movie nights, impromptu presentations, or portable gaming? It’s more than up to the task.

Overall, Projector Go offers excellent value, convenience, and portability. It’s our top choice for anyone who wants big-screen capability without the complexity, and especially great for families, students, or travelers who need entertainment that moves with them.

2. KODAK Luma 150 Ultra Mini Projector

  • Rechargeable battery for true portability.
  • Sleek and easy to use design.
  • Low brightness can lead to image blur
  • Not suited for daytime use.

Key Features: 60 lumens brightness, 120 inch screen, 480p image, 1.5w speakers

Our Verdict: The Kodak Luma 150 is a sleek, palm-sized projector offering 480p resolution with both Wi‑Fi and Bluetooth connectivity, making it ideal for portable streaming and easy device pairing. It looks and feels more premium than most compact projectors in this range. However, with a brightness rating of only ~200 lumens, it’s strictly for dark-room use—any ambient light noticeably washes out the image. For buyers who prioritize portability and design over brightness, it’s a stylish pick, but not a practical one for daytime or outdoor use.

3. BenQ GP100A Portable LED Projector

  • Built in Netflix, Chromecast, Android + More.
  • Vivid colours, suitable for games, sports and movies.
  • Steep price tag
  • Bulkier and less portable than other options

Key Features: 1000 lumens brightness, 150 inch screen, 1080p image, 20w speaker

Designed for performance-focused users, the BenQ GP100A boasts 1,000 ANSI lumens, Android TV, USB-C input, and a vibrant 90% DCI-P3 color gamut—all in a native 1080p package. You’ll also get the benefit of other add ons, such as Chromecast and Airplay.

Almost a full blown entertainment system, it’s one of the brightest and most color-accurate portable projectors available, making it perfect for use outside and indoors. The picture really does make this projector stand out. However, it’s also bulkier at around 6 pounds and lacks internal battery support, reducing its portability. With a steep price tag that more than doubles the cost of the Projector Go, it’s best suited for users who truly want a top of the line option. prioritizing brightness and color fidelity over convenience and most importantly, price.

4. XGIMI MoGo 4 Laser

  • Great Android multimedia interface
  • Exceptional audio and image that’s great for all multimedia
  • Price point makes this a premium purchase

Key Features: 550 lumens brightness, 120 inch screen, 1080p image, 12w speaker

The XGIMI MoGo 4 Laser stands out for its laser-based light engine, full HD resolution, built-in Harman Kardon speakers, and a smart Android TV interface—making it a compelling all-in-one entertainment hub.

It delivers super sharp images and rich audio in a premium, travel-ready chassis. That said, it’s still limited to 1080p resolution, and the focus wheel can be finicky, especially for on-the-go adjustments. At nearly $800, you’re paying a premium price for a premium image, along with portability and smart features. However, in similar fashion to the Benq, we don’t think that’s enough to warrant the price tag unless you’re looking for a very serious home projector set up.

5.  P770 Crosstour Portable Mini Projector

  • Unbeatable price.
  • Great for smaller projection needs, like coursework and informal presentations.
  • Downscaled image quality not the best
  • Sound quality is at lower end

Key Features: 210 lumens brightness, 174 inch screen, 1080p image, 1.5w speakers

Our Verdict: The Crosstour Mini Projector is one of the cheapest options on the market, featuring WiFi screen mirroring, HDMI and USB ports and a basic built-in speaker. While it’s advertised as supporting 1080p input, the native resolution is just 720p—resulting in softer visuals and limited detail, especially on larger screens.

It’s a functional starter projector for occasional use, but anyone seeking sharp image quality or reliable build should look elsewhere. Its rock-bottom price is the main draw and the biggest reason why it’s hit our rankings. But, jlet’s be clear, performance expectations should be modest.

Final Thoughts: The Best Mini Projector Of 2025

Every projector on this list brings something unique to the table. Whether it’s premium laser brightness, smart TV integration, or ultra-budget accessibility. It’s also very clear, there are some projectors out there with unrivalled quality when it comes to a bright, yet clear picture.

However, with the very best image, comes a premium price. That’s why Projector Go earns our top spot thanks to the unmatched balance of portability, picture quality, and value. At under $150, it delivers sharp 1080p resolution, wireless streaming, and intuitive auto-focus that rivals models two to three times the cost. Whether you’re setting up an outdoor movie night or streaming shows on the go, it’s a hassle-free, high-impact upgrade to your entertainment setup. And with a 90-day risk-free guarantee, there’s zero downside to trying it out for yourself.
